Upland Game Birds

Upland Game bird hunting includes dove, quail and Rio Grand Turkey.  The Lonesome Coyote Ranch borders the Nueces River, has five large ponds and numerous food plots that attract birds.  We also feed year round to keep the turkey and quail from moving onto other places.

We have mourning and white wing dove and both wild and released and Bob White and Blue only quail hunting.  Dove and quail hunting is done with a guide and dogs.   Rio Grande Turkey are primarily hunted along the river bottom.

At the Lonesome Coyote Ranch, all bird hunts are booked on a first come, first served basis.

We book a full calendar of dove, quail and Rio Grande turkey hunts during each season so be sure to book your Texas bird trip to Lonesome Coyote well in advance.

Our dove, quail and turkey hunting trips are not restricted to a set number of days.  However, our standard Hunt Package is 3 days and 2 nights and typically you arrive after lunch on the first day and depart before noon on the last day.  We can comfortably accommodate up to 14 in the main lodge. Additional guests can utilize sleeping arrangements at the Chiminea and Dos Rios lodges. 

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking. If deposits are not received within 14 days of booking all reservations will be deemed to have lapsed. We accept cash, check or credit card. Deposit is based on hunt package price and/or non-hunter rate according to number of nights per person. Your deposit can be applied to a mutually agreeable future reservation if changes are made 72 hours prior to check in date. All no shows will be billed in full.

Hunting Packages are per person.

Dove Hunting

Not Included: Guns, Ammunition, Hunting license, Gratuity for Guide and Cooks

Shotguns are available to rent for $25.00 per day.

Ammunition, safety glasses, ear protection and blaze orange gear available in the ranch store.

Non-hunters - $250/night

There is no nightly rate for children under the age of 12.

**You can combine any additional hunts or activities season and weather permitting.  For example, add on a predator hunt for $300.00 per person or additional rounds of skeet for 50¢ per target.

Quail Hunting

Not Included: Guns, Ammunition, Hunting license, Gratuity for Guide and Cooks.

Extra quail can be purchased at $10.00 per bird
