Whitetail

All properties are intensely managed with one goal in mind: to create nothing less than the absolute best whitetail hunting experience.  None of our land is leased and it is your choice to hunt in the high fence or free range.  Also, the hunt is not physically demanding unless you are looking for a physical challenge and any age or level of experience is welcome.

Whitetail deer are fed year round to increase their body weight and horn size.   When hunting it is common to see 50 plus whitetail in one sitting plus other wildlife over food plots or corn feeders.  Rifle hunting is out of two or three man tower blinds with shots within 100 yards.  Archery hunting is out of ground blinds with shots within 30 yards.  Every hunter has their own guide and you will take home a souvenir photograph of your trophy.

We are under special whitetail permits through the state of Texas. These permits allow our whitetail Season to open October 1st and end on February 28th annually.

At the Lonesome Coyote Ranch, all whitetail hunts are booked on a first come, first served basis.   We book a full calendar of hunts during that time so, be sure to book your whitetail Texas trip to Lonesome Coyote well in advance.

Our whitetail hunting trips are not restricted or limited to a certain size group or number of days during the week. However, our standard Hunt Package is 3 days and 2 nights and typically you arrive after lunch on Friday and depart at noon on Sunday.  Also, we consider our lodge full at 4 people but can comfortably accommodate up to 14 and can sleep 20.  Just let us know if you would like to make arrangements other than the standard 3-day 2-night package or for more than four hunters when booking your whitetail hunt.

Hunting fees at Lonesome Coyote Ranch are pre-paid.  In order for your South Texas trip to be booked we must receive a non-refundable 50% deposit for your group within 15 days of reserving your dates.  We accept cash, credit card, money orders or personal checks.  Please note, that if you cancel, the deposit is not refundable.  However, you are welcome to find a replacement or reschedule according to ranch calendar availability but no shows are billed in full.

Hunting Packages are per person and based on two primary points; The Nightly Rate, which is a base cost per person (paid in advance of your trip), and the size of your whitetail, which is variable (see table below). Your guide will assist you in identifying the size and score of whitetail during the hunt.   The size your guide calls it in the field is the size you pay for unless we are officially scoring the deer.

The accommodations, hospitality, and of course the deer were second to none. Thank you for your support of the Veteran Outdoors, the Former Texas Ranger Foundation, and for giving Spc. Deven Schei a weekend and a trophy deer he will never forget!

I now truly know the meaning of "southern hospitality". You have a great ranch and run a first class operation.

After hunting several ranches throughout South Texas over the last 15 years, I have finally found one that has it all. Fantastic accommodations, food and overall comfort are second to none. The number of quality animals is simply unbelievable.
